Ball and Doggett (LIVE Brief)
Student design competition: Visions of the Future - a visual expression of the future through colour and typography. The winning artwork will feature in either the BJ Ball or B and D 2025 calendar.
Project Objectives
Create a typographical design that explores the theme: Visions of the Future. The design layout has to match the criteria set within the guidelines for the competition and Designers were required to choose a Ball and Doggett paper stock to enhance their design.
Rationale
"Sustain the Grain" is a clever play on words that questions the sustainability of paper as a renewable resource. Unlike many materials, paper can be recycled up to eight times and can originate from repurposed agricultural waste such as fruit and vegetables.
As we move toward a circular economy, scrutinising our daily resource use is vital. Here, "grain" plays on paper's natural texture and specifically references the "Corn Crush" paper stock used for this design's textured background.
