Mock up of presentation deck for Tiny Sanctuary BIG Impact workshop featuring cover image and content slides
TINY SANCTUARY BIG IMPACT | EVENT BRANDING PACKAGE

Project Objective
Design an event branding package incl:
Event Cover Image (social media & booking sites)
Presentation deck (content delivery during event – approx. 210 slides).
Work book (TBC for future dates)

The design should reflect NSW Hen Rescue with a warm, friendly and inviting aesthetic that conveys sanctuary and care. The presentation deck should balance between an intimate/homey feel and a professional polish. Color palette is open to designer interpretation although Hen Rescue branding colours need to be included. Minimise overly clinical or activist-heavy imagery and focus on connection and hope.
Tiny Sanctuary, Big Impact Workshop (TSBI)
TSBI is a powerful, practical workshop for vegan animal advocates who want to offer liberated animals a brilliant life and use that exceptional care to drive real change.

Learn how to start a microsanctuary from your own home, whether for chickens, rats, ducks, or larger animals (if you have space), and give animals the safety, autonomy, and individual care they deserve.

You’ll also discover how to share their stories in ways that touch hearts, shift perspectives, and help those still trapped in farms, labs, and cages.

Microsanctuaries can take pressure off larger rescues while becoming a potent form of advocacy. Rooted in deep care and smart storytelling, your home can become a refuge and have a powerful ripple effect.

You will leave this workshop inspired and ready to take action with your own personalised plan ready to go in your workbook.

Small is beautiful. Start where you are. Help who you can.
Rationale
As co-facilitator of TSBI and as a Director for NSW Hen Rescue this workshop is an integral part of our mission. Saving one animal may not change the world, but it changes the world for that one animal and that was the main drive for me with this project.

I wanted to keep the design consistent with our current branding and style with a warm, fun and inviting aesthetic with a professional polish that didn’t feel too rigid. Being flexible and thinking on your feet is what animal rescue and running a sanctuary is all about and the presentation deck reflects that.

The colour palette across the branding package included our core branding colours coupled with 3-4 other complimentary colours to keep the content bright and high contrast for accessibility.

The imagery incl video content isn’t overly harsh or clinical and is mostly playful whilst also allowing for the realities behind running a microsanctuary and some of the more challenging moments. We wanted to focus on connection and hope so made sure all photos had the name of the animal/s featured and we used these as prompts to tell individual stories.

Gifs, cartoons and funny clips also helped to lighten some of the heavier content and a mix of subtle animated transitions kept the content interesting rather than static.

Consistent title slides, content slides, readable fonts and image heavy slides using a mix of photos and stock icons all helped to reflect the core values behind the workshop. These include a deep care for animals, practical empowerment and advocacy, hope and possibility as well as the importance of community and connection.

The Presentation Deck has 207 slides, designed for easy editing across different audiences. This keeps content consistent and current despite varying state legislature, financial requirements, council regulations, and animal protection legislation. It also allows us to add or remove content based on suitability, past performance, or attendee feedback.
As of March 2026, TSBI has been delivered as a full 6-hour workshop in Sydney and Brisbane, with rollout to other Australian states in the works. For those unable to attend in person, an online version is in the making to ensure accessibility for anyone interested in starting a microsanctuary and creating a global impact for animals.
